Musicianship and Band Development
(for singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bassists, horn players, songwriters)
June 5th, 12th, 19th and 20th Topanga Community House
3 - 5:30 call or email to sign up.

This will be a full participation workshop covering the musical skills and leadership needed
to develop a band, from the initial ideas to the performance. We will explore the roles of different instruments in creating arrangements and song ideas. Interpersonal skills
relevant to maintaining positive band cooperation and attitude will also be discussed.

What keeps a band together? What breaks up a band? How do you choose the right members
for your group or project? What constitutes powerful leadership as opposed to just a big ego?
How does a sensitive artist clearly communicate ideas and inspiration to others?
And how does a performer deal with anxiety or stage fright, or success with an audience?
I hope to initiate provocative thinking among the workshop participants and encourage
them to use their full creative energies while practicing musical skills, cooperation and
group awareness.
